Expectation!

A expectation that I could think of that my parents has for me is to achieve in life, go to college and joined or be a crime Secene Investigation(CSI). My parents like anything that has to do with crime, but however I don't see myself in a position of trying to find out who the killer is. Eventhough, you get paid good I still wouldn't do it because I wouldn't enjoy it and I wouldn't be the person for this kind of job.

My plans are to become a computer enginnering,my parents think thats a very good carrer, however, my dad thinks that i would be better off being in the CSI. I enjoy using computers, sometimes I struggle in doing something using my computer, but I make a endeavor, in trying to do what i can't. Sometimes I even help my dad when he is not able to do use the computer. Since the day I was little I will always look at my dad using the computer and look at what he was doing. No one ever taught me anythin of computers, I learned everything that I know by watching and by learning from my own mistakes. My dad also knows that I will also be able to achieve in life having this as my job.

My parents respect the idea that I want to become a computer engineeing, but they think that being in the CSI is a better job. At least they respect the idea that I'm not indicated or the person for the CSI. Being in the CSI is really hard and it takes alot of work getting the job and you have to be able to see blood and I know I wouldn't be.

Quote: by: Dalai amma

"If you want others to be happy practice compassion. If you want to be happy, pratice compassion "
- Dalai amma, Tibetan Buddhist monk

Dalai amma, Tibetan buddhist monk once said ' in order to be happy pratice the feeling of caring for others or understanding . I think this quote means that when you show someone compassion u make your self be happy and others show compassion to you as well. Also showing comnpassion to other it shows that your a nice person and makes people be nice to you. Without happiness your life would be nothing.

I agree but disagree with this quote because many people need compassion in life , and i think when you care for other this make the person feel happy and makes u feel happy also. It makes you get this feeling that you did something good. Hoever sometimes we can't see this compassion in people or in you self. I think love is similar to compassion because they use love is someone you care about and compassion you care about them and understand them. I also disagree because when you show a lot of compassion, it makes you look like your a very nice person. People might think you so to nice and take advantage of you .

This quote makes me look back, and think about when I was nice people started to show compassion back. However, I didn't show a lot of compassion or tried to be really nice because then people take advantage of you.
This quote also compares to Miss lottie and her plants she started to show a lot of compassion to her flowers and people started to get advantage of her .???

Hw #4 pg 21, 22, 23

Title: Eliminating the Lighter Shades of Stereotyping
Author: Emmeline Chen
page: Short story pg 21
Summary: The story eliminating the lighter shades of stereotyping is about the chinamen that were protrayed as foolish, Christian converts blindly following a missionary though they possessed a yen to gamble. The point of this story is that if the play portraying African Americans as simpleminded fools with a gamblin streak as they did for the Asia, the people would have bring out a negative response. But no because the stereotype was for Asia and not African American nothing happened.

Personal Response: I think this sort of thing always happens. People sterreotype other people, and is really dumb.

Title: I looked Down on the Edges
Author: Benjamin Baker
Page: Pg 22
Summary: The story I looked down on the Eagles is about her little brother always being the brave one to do dangerous things like for example race down a side of the hill. However, this all changed when her brother wasn't brave to jump a ramp made of solid ice, it stood at least two feet tall at the bottom of the steepest part of the hill. Her brother didn't want to do so she was brave and she had jumped. Well she broke both of bones in her left arm, but she was proud of her self because she knew that she was no longer inferior.

Personal Response In my opinion I think is always good to be brave evethough sometimes it can cause consequences. However i could break armm but still be happy because I was able to do something I was never though I will.

Title: Diner Dandruf
Author: Robert Fulghum
Page: Pg 24
Summary: This story talks about how as a child you have a really easy life. As u grow up and become a adult you have to do the list, clean the sink strainer, plunge out the toilet, wipe runny noses, clean up the floor when the baby throws strained spinach, clean ovens and grease traps and roasting pans, empty the kitty box and scrape up the dog doo etc.. many more stuff . It really hard to be a adult.

Personal Response: I think that it is really hard to be adult you have a lot of work to do and as a kid you have more fun.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"There are many truths of which the full meaning cannot be realized with personal experiences has brought it home".

John Stuart Mill

I think this quoute means that there is a point in life when u learned a lesson, and this lesson coud have changed the way you act, think. You also are able to realized at the end that why now you learned the lesson, why not before, it could have been much better. Also you don't know something until it happens to you. As I still remember does days that I was so dumb, obnoxious and wasn't able to forget the past because of a dumb incident that happened.

So far as i rememeber when I was in elemenatry school, I had a bestfriend, was Ana, we were like sister we always be together. I will always do my project with her, in other words we would never do anything if we weren'together. Everytime one of our classmates asked us if we were sister we will always say yes without even hesiating. Everytime we had a secreat we will always tell each other, it could have been any big secreat but we managed to keep it a secreat. If anyone tried to be mean to her I will always defend her , and she did the same for me. However, everything changed when I reached foruth grade because in fourth grade me and my best friend got seperate from each other. As we got seperate I saw that she started to bed with this girl from her class name jamie . anna to spend more time with her which got me really mad. Everytime I tried to talk to Anna, Jamie will get it the way by chnaging the conversation or by always saying anyways. I felt like punching her with all the anger that i had inside me. However, at the end i got tired and I just moved on, but i still didn't like Jamie. I still talked to Anna but not as much as before.

I graduated from elementary school and went to Junior high school, my best friend, and Anna went to the same school, but in a diffrent academy, but i found out that jamie the girl that i hated so much was going to the same school and was going to be in the same class as me. I started talking to her and she to me because i realized that it was really dum. It was ironic because at the end me and her became best friends , and we did everything together, and we looked back in the pass and looked how we act .

Answer: He will bring himself to their level, do wat the adults do and act more like them

chapter2-Personal Reflection

In chapter 2 of The Little Prince I read about when he had accident with his plane and he landed in Desert Sahara, six years ago, and his engine broke. It took him a really long time to repair the engine because he didn't carry no pasengers, this meant he was all alone by himself. To maintain himslef a live he drank a lot of water. His first night in the desert he went layed on the sandf and felt asleep. However, then a voice had awakened him up. He looked and it was a prince saying to him draw me a ship. He drew him the sheep about three times and still the prince said that doesn't look like a sheep. Then the fourth picture he drew a boy and he said that the sheep was inside, and the prince said "That is exactly the way I wanted it!'This reflects to me the feeling that he was feeling stuck in the dessert with no one to talk to until the prince came to him.

Chapter3

Chapter three is about the little prince asking questions and answering them. However when he ask the little prince, he never answer or reply. Now he had someone to talk to, about everything. Something similar to what had happened to me as it did to him was when he felt lonely and needed someone to talk to, I didn't feel lonely but it was really boring to sit down and no one talking to you, until this girl started to talk to me.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4 is about him comparig the adults with the kids. The adults have no imagination then the kids do. He is also is trying to find ouyt where the little prince is from, but he thinks he is from B-612, this number is is actually a planet only astronomer called them like this when they are first discovered. Also when u tell a audlt you have a new friends tehy are never gonan ask u what games he love the best? Does he collect buterflies? What does he do? they always going to ask you how old he is? How much does he weight? How much money he makes? However, they always ask questons that they think is imnportant, but for us is not important at all. I think sometimes adults ask question taht are not useful at all. I think question like the ones that the adults ask doesn't say anything about a person, thats my opinion.

Homework # 3

**The author in this essay use many descriptive details. The descriptive details made the story much more interested and more better to understand. Even though sometime to much descriptive details just make it not fun to read, in this case it didn't. The author used it to make u understand it more because it was kind of confusing, that's what I think.
**In "The leats of these" the author used a lot of descriptive details. For example, when the author explained that the mailmen was the best mailman and he delivered in rain, snow, shine, or sleet and that he weared his mailman uniform, he hand each person his or her mail. The author explained every description of this character and made much more easier to understand the kind of person he was kind. The situation that he was going through.
**Also in " Family Roads Trips with My Three Dads" Emily Atkinson the author describe the dad as transforming bear that started to transformed after they gave him the ticket for $60. Then the bear fell silent after the ticket issuing and snapped off the tape player. The author use a lot of description so we would be able to get to know his personality and also to describe the way he reacts when he gets mad. However, he used a lot of it but it wasn't to the the extreme.
**In "coming of Age in Mississippi" the author Anne Moody used description as everything that they did. For example, when the author describe Memphis lying near the lunch counter with blood running out of corner of his mouth. Anne explained every moved that he made for him to tried to protect his face.etc... This is how the author used descriptive detail.
**Descriptive details were used in this three essays or storywere very helpfull.

Group Reminiscene

As I heard the deep voice of my dad saying " Wake up is time to go camping". As i heard those worlds I knew it was going to be the worse day for me because I hated camping, it was so borin and I hated to sit there just looking at the sky. There was no electricity, which means no tv, computer, and I also missed my soft bed, then sleeping in the hard floor. They say campin is suppoose to be fun and relax you, well I think it doesn't for me it doesn't.

I jumped out of bed, brushed my teeth, got dress and then took some clothes out of my closet and then put it in a bookbag. I was in such a hurry that I didn't even get time to have breakfast, so I just ran out and took with me a apple. As my dad was driving I was listenig to music, it was kind of boring because it was only my mom, dad and me. In a instant it got so dark cloudy and foggy, I was scared because we were not able to see the road, this could have lead my dad to accident, this also meant it was going to take a really long time to get to bear mountain. This just made the day much worser then what it was before.

Suddenly, I saw that my dad pulled over, and i though to my self, what now! He got out of the car running quickly to the back, by the look on his face it looked pretty bad. I looked out the back window, and i saw that our luggage had fallen from the car. I was so terrified at the moment because we were in the highway, so all of the cars were going extremely fast. I opened the door and ran out of the car as quiclky as i could . I had forgotten that it was rainning hard, but with the rain and everything I told my dad to hurry up and who cares about the luggage, is first our safety. I got back into the car with my dad and we left, and about a hour later we were in bear mountain. It wasn't really bad, I actually had fun in bear mountain.
